Optical InterLinks (OIL) Polymer
Products successfully completed outgassing tests.
The testing was conducted by NuSil Technology LLC
of Carpinterial, California. Outgas tests meeting ASTM E-595 were
completed on typical material structure of OIL polymer film based products.
Results indicate that Collected Volatile Condensable Material (CVCM)
was less than the acceptable 0.10% maximum and Total Mass Loss (TML)
is significantly below the accepted maximum of 1.00% after Water Vapor
Recovered (WVR) is taken into account. Five grams of material were used
in conducting the outgas testing. This mass was divided equally between
one control sample and three testing samples. (Note: The testing mass
is equivalent to more than 300 typical stand alone polymer devices.)

Upcoming Events
LEOS 2008 CONFERENCE - Bruce L. Booth PhD, President
and CTO of Optical InterLinks, will be presenting an invited paper at
LEOS 2008 (November 9th – 13th ) in Newport Beach, CA. Bruce will be
presenting a paper during the afternoon (≈2:15 PM) of 12 November
titled:
Technology and Product Review for Practical Polymer
Waveguide Optical Interconnections
Board and chip level planar polymer waveguide optical interconnections
are being developed in response to electronic performance and cost issues
resulting from 20 GHz+ data rates, EMI, and related design constraints.
The presentation reviews practical planar polymer waveguide optical
interconnection technologies and solution status.
Bruce will be available during the conference to answer your question
regarding implemention of polymer planar waveguides into your optical application.
Please feel free to schedule a meeting with Bruce by calling (610) 444-9469 x12.
Past Events
Optical Interlinks will not be having a booth at this year's OFC in San Diego on February 24th-28th , but Dr Bruce Booth will be attending this conference. During this time Dr. Booth will be available for one-on-one discussions on how our technology and product may benefit your designs. Please feel free to contact Dr. Booth on his cell at 610-745-0828 to arrange a discussion time.
Dr. Bruce Booth of Optical InterLinks and Jack Fisher, who headed up the
iNEMI program exploring optical backplanes, recently co-authored a paper
titled " Practical Optoelectronic Substrate Connectivity" which will be
published within "Printed Circuit Design and Manufacture" magazine. The
first installment of this two part article will be in the February 2008
edition with the final part published in the March 2008 edition. This
article explores technology option and cost/performance comparisons for
optical backplane connections. A copy of the pre-edited version can be found
in our Papers and Publications section. The link below is for February's
online installment on Printed Circuits & Fab. web site.

Optical InterLinks was formed from the technology of Optical CrossLinks after an asset buyout by Martra LLC in December of 2006. This purchase and subsequent reorganization took most of 2007 to accomplish. As a result, our Web Site is current undergoing extensive upgrades in both content and form. Listings of Past Events will begin after this year?s OFC.
